Estée Lauder launched a collection, called Estée Edit, to attract more of a younger audience to their brand. Normally, Estée Lauder is known to be a classier brand and focusing not so much on teenagers but instead an older crowd. The faces for Estée Edit are Kendell Jenner and blogger Irene Kim and both have created an enormous storm on social media. These days social media is the best way to reach the younger audience so why not collab with two influential individuals with a strong social media following.
I decided to try out the “Fluid Metal Eyeshadow” in the shade “Party of 1”. This is a nice light pink colour perfect for the upcoming transition from winter to spring. When I first swatched this in store it seemed okay and of course I ended up buying it. It comes with a doe foot applicator but I decided to use a flat brush because I wanted a more precise application. This product states that this formula ‘sets with an intense wet metallic finish pops in photo’. This product does pop in photos but in person I did not like it whatsoever. This eyeshadow creases and cracks. The formula is a bit chunky and in person this shadow does not dry smooth, there is cracking when it dries. It does not look good at all. To get a fuller coverage of this metal eyeshadow you will have to go in a few times. I did apply this with a primer underneath the product, although it is not necessary. You can use this product for a light wash of colour and glitter on the lids but it is definitely not a product I would recommend.
Who knows, maybe the other shades might be different and possibly better when applied. But this particular shade really did not motivate me to try anymore. I hope they improve the formula. I do want to try the “Metallishadow Crème + Powder” from this collection.

March 31st I attended a fashion show in Hamilton, Ontario. It was organized by Style at Mac, which is a club at McMaster University, for which I am a trend blogger. This show is an annual event showcasing fashion from across the city. This year it was held at the Cotton Factory, which continues to be a historic complex in the city. The Cotton Factory was formerly a cotton mill in the early twentieth century and now is the center for creativity. It’s historic and authentic atmosphere makes for one impeccable venue. The fashion show showcased designers such as: “White Elephant”, “Josette Cacino” and “Mendocino”. I decided to escape my norm of wearing all black all the time and went with a light grey bodycon dress. I KNOW, WHAT A DIFFERENCE. FROM BLACK TO GREY :O Spring is here and I’ve got to open myself up to a bit more colour! Nothing crazy of course, but grey is a great start.
For makeup, I went all out! If you know me you know I do not apply foundation often but I pulled out my fave, NARS Sheer Glow in Syracuse. It started with foundation and ended with highlighter by Becca in Champagne Pop and everything in between. I am talking contour, eyeshadow, THE WHOLE SHABANG 😛 The only thing I was missing were my false eyelashes. But they decided not to work with me so well, so I tossed them aside. For the lips, I went BOLD with Kat Von D’s Everlasting LipStick in Echo. This Lipstain does not budge but can be drying. So I suggest using Mac’s lip primer prior to applying the stain. Not too many pictures were taken that night, unfortunately, but this is what I did manage to take. Hope you enjoy:
I paired the dress with my black platform booties from Forever 21. I showcased my boots in one of my previous blog posts titled “Something Different”.
