“The Light We Give”, by Simran Jeet Singh: A Book Review

I just finished reading “The Light We Give” by Simran Jeet Singh. This is a must read for anyone who is trying to grow themselves. I found the book to be spiritually enlightening and fulfilling, and there are many take-aways that I can apply to my own life right away. This is not at all a religious book, but instead a book to expand your scope of truly being the best person you can be. What I really liked about the book was that there were many learning opportunities for me to reflect back on my own life, and analyze what I could have done differently with some solid fundamental beliefs and values.

What the book reinforces is to be present minded, and reiterating that dwelling on the past is irrational. Why look back through a small rear view mirror, when you can look forward through the big windshield in front of you! One of my favourite quotes from the book that really resonated with me was “a wise person is a person who does not fear, and does not inspire fear.” This quote is honestly going to change the way I live and the way I think about my life and others around me. This is one of many quotes that are buried in syntactically sugar rich text. Hope you’ve enjoyed my review of the book, and hope you have a chance to pick up the book when you have time!

Until Next Time!
