I have the toughest time finding a perfect nude lip colour for my skin tone. I’m Punjabi, Indian and would classify myself as a medium skin shade with a warm undertone.

On an everyday basis I enjoy wearing more neutral shades on my lips. I am always weary when I read articles or watch YouTube videos on ‘nude lip colours perfect for every skin tone’. I tend to find that popular nude shades are way too pale on me and I end giving off a ‘beyond the grave’ vibe if you know what I mean. The nude lip colours I’ve found, after years of trial and error, have proven well for my skin tone. These colours are all perfect for everyday wear.

Lip Stain

1. Sephora Collection ‘Marvelous Mauve’, number 13

-This is a muted pink shade.

-Love the formula of this lip stain, one the best in my opinion. Keeps your lip moisturized, with impeccable longevity and pigmentation.

Lipstick

1. Revlon ‘Honey Douce’, number 001

-Light pink shade, buildable. Medium shine.

-Highly moisturizing formula. Perfect for a ‘no makeup, makeup’ look.

2. Maybelline ‘Touch of Spice’, number 660

-Deeper brownish-pink shade.

-Great shade for autumn.

3. Estee Lauder x Victoria Beckham ‘Brazilian Nude’

-Warm brown.

-Ultimate nude shade. Applies so easily and does not dry out your lips.

Lip Gloss

1. MAC lipglass ‘Spice’

-Warm brown.

2. Lip Bar ‘Baby Bellini’

-Cool tone brown.

3. NARS Velvet Lip Glide ‘Bound’

-Cool Mauve.

 

Lip Liners

1. MAC ‘Hover’

-Perfect warm tone brown.

2. MAC ‘Whirl’

-Lighter, cool toned brown.

MAC definitely makes the best lipliners in my opinion. Great pigmentation, easy to use, and a creamy formula. What more could you ask for in a lipliner. I am opposed to retractable lipliners, they always break on me and don’t last as long as a good pencil lipliner. My least favourite retractable lipliners would be by Smashbox Cosmetics, it broke on me a few days after I purchased it.

My favourite amongst all of these options would be the Estee Lauder x Victoria Beckham ‘Brazilian Nude’. This is the ultimate nude for those who are not a fair skin tone. It does not wash me out or make me look pale. The formula is impeccable and keeps your lips hydrated all day. I would not have expected any less from Victoria Beckham.
